42/365: A Distant Second

untitled.jpg

We had been planning to go to the park, but after less than stellar cooperation when asked to clean up toys, Isaac received the consequence of "no park today. Sorry buddy, we don't have enough time anymore." Going on a walk was not a satisfactory replacement.

Sometimes it's hard to be the Mama and have to stand strong on your word.

It really is so hard to do that sometimes. Especially when they are so disappointed. Don't worry, it will get easier. :) Now my oldest gives me so much attitude I have no problem taking away things like that. :)

Way to go mama! I try to be strong and stick to what I say, but I'll admit there are a few times I've caved and have regretted it each and every time!

Honestly, I didn't do anything special here... spot metered off of his skin and allowed the white to blow slightly in camera, then brought them back in post. I'm thinking that having the sun to my back and being down low (I was literally on my belly again :)) may have helped... but I'm not sure. Something to look in to!

I know, but you are such a good mama for standing your ground. I just did a post about things I have already learned from a book called "To Train Up A Child." It's hard work but will be worth it in the end when I have a well behaved child that people like to be around.

You can just feel his determination! Good thing you are dealing with it now or you might be in trouble later.
